Privacy Policy

Who we are

This Privacy Notice is issued by Jazi Connect (the "seller", "we", "our", or "us"), the operator of the Jazi Connect AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) application available at www.jaziconnect.com. Jazi Connect is the data controller for the personal information described below and decides why and how it is processed. You can reach us at support@jaziconnect.com.

Categories of personal data we collect

  • Account data: email address and authentication identifiers used to sign in.
  • User content: cards, labels, phrases, and any photos you upload.
  • App preferences: favorites, voice settings, and other choices made in Parent Settings.
  • Support correspondence: messages and attachments you send to us.
  • Technical data: limited device, log, and security data (e.g. IP address, error logs) used to keep the service running and secure.
  • Purchase data: order confirmations from our payment processor. Card numbers are handled by the processor and never reach our servers.

Purposes and legal bases for processing

  • Provide the service (create your account, sync cards, play phrases) — legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • Process payments and prevent fraud — legal basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in preventing fraudulent transactions.
  • Customer support — legal basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in responding to you.
  • Security, abuse prevention, and service reliability — legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app safe.
  • Legal and tax compliance (e.g. invoicing records) — legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed:

  • Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") — our payment processor and Merchant of Record. When you buy Jazi Connect, Paddle receives the personal data necessary to complete the sale (name, email, billing address, payment method, IP address, transaction details) and is responsible for payment processing, invoicing, sales tax, refunds, and chargebacks.   • Hosting and infrastructure providers that store your account data, uploaded images, and database records on our behalf.
  • AI voice service used to generate spoken phrases. We send only the text of the phrase to be spoken — no account identifiers, no recordings, and no information about the child.
  • Professional advisors (e.g. accountants, lawyers) and authorities where disclosure is required by law.

Children's privacy

Jazi Connect is designed for children, but accounts are created and managed by a parent or caregiver. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children and we do not show advertising. If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, please email us at support@jaziconnect.com and we will delete it.

Data retention

  • Account and user content: kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.
  • Support correspondence: up to 24 months after the last contact.
  • Purchase and tax records: retained by Paddle and by us for the period required by applicable tax law (typically 7 years).
  • Security and error logs: typically 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; request portability of data you provided; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email support@jaziconnect.com. We will respond within one month.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from inside the app or by emailing support@jaziconnect.com. Deletion is permanent.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security review. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you trust us with.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, notify you in the app.
